Senior AutoCAD Drafter

We are seeking a talented and ambitious Senior AutoCAD Drafter to join our team in the water and wastewater engineering industry.  In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality, accurate technical drawings and schematics to support the design and construction process. Your attention to detail and proficiency in AutoCAD will be instrumental in delivering cutting-edge engineering solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

​

  • Serve as the technical expert and lead resource for the drafting and design team. Proactively share knowledge and insights to drive continuous improvement and adoption of industry best practices across the team. 

  • Develop and produce detailed, accurate, and comprehensive CAD drawings and models for a variety of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment plants, pipelines, pumping stations, and other related facilities 

  • Collaborate closely with project engineers, designers, and cross-functional team members to ensure drawings meet all design, safety, and regulatory requirements, and provide innovative solutions to complex design challenges. 

  • Oversee the development and implementation of efficient drawing management processes, file organization, and archiving systems to support the seamless coordination of projects across disciplines. 

  • Assist with the review and approval of drawings produced by junior drafters, providing constructive feedback and guidance to ensure consistent quality and adherence to standards.

  •  Exhibit a customer-centric mindset and provide outstanding service to internal and external clients, building strong relationships and representing the company's commitment to excellence. 

Qualifications

​

  • 7+ years of experience as an AutoCAD Drafter, with a strong background in industrial facilities and electrical engineering projects. 

  • Mastery of advanced AutoCAD features, including 2D and 3D modeling, parametric design, annotations, and layering, as well as proficiency in other design software. 

  • Proven ability to interpret and translate complex engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications into detailed, accurate, and compliant technical drawings. 

  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, with a track record of providing innovative solutions to design challenges. 

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively consult with project engineers, designers, and clients. 

  • Understanding of National Electrical Code preferred 

  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed â€‹â€‹â€‹

  • This is an in-office position (not a remote work position)
